Preserving our history, capturing our spirit
Established in 1993, the Boston Children’s Hospital Archives Program acquires, preserves and makes available the historical records that document the ongoing history of Boston Children’s Hospital, its staff and personnel, patients and families, and community.
The archives maintains a wide variety of collection materials, including; personal papers, departmental records, letters, photographs, oral histories and more. These primary materials document the evolution of the institution and attest to Boston Children’s many ground-breaking contributions to pediatric healthcare, teaching and research. The collections mirror the institution’s policies, organization and culture — and capture the spirit of an era.
Support the archives
Give to the Boston Children’s Hospital’s Archives Endowment Fund
The Boston Children’s Hospital Archives Fund represents an important and lasting source of support for the archives program. Gifts to the fund ensure that the Archives can continue to preserve the legacy of Boston Children’s Hospital in perpetuity through the conservation, collection and presentation of historical documents and artifacts.
Donations to the Archives Fund support collection development and special exhibits, the oral history program, preservation, and program support. Individuals who donate $1,000 dollars or more, and foundations that give $10,000 or more, to the Boston Children’s Hospital Archives Fund are recognized on a plaque in the Archives and in Children’s Annual Report on Philanthropy. In addition, these donors can receive a limited edition hard cover copy of the book, Boston Children’s Hospital.
