Q – Question

Dr. Judah Folkman in his lab, circa 1990

When Dr. Judah Folkman first proposed in the 1970s that cancer could be kept in check by cutting off its blood supply, he faced skepticism from the scientific community. But today, more than 1,000 laboratories worldwide are engaged in the study of angiogenesis – the formation of new blood vessels. This includes the Vascular Biology Program at Boston Children’s, founded by Folkman and now led by Marsha A. Moses, PhD.
